Can we rewind back to Spring and try again? The heat and repeated rain is just too much!

Title: Precarious Landing by Judy Giguere 2022 Size: 22″ x 19″ Chinese/Asian watercolor chip pigments on fibrous rice paper.
My painting has been selected by judge/juror Dr. Kan Kit-Keung for the Flower and Bird Award. The show was sponsored by the Sumi-e Society of America and held at the Chinese American Museum.

This very dramatic painting is done on Green Line Semi-sized Paper with mineral blue and green as well as watercolors and use of Chinese chip colors. It is 41″ x 29″. It is as dynamic in person as it is on this website!

Snow in the mountains and the wilderness.
Snow will soon engulf Connecticut. Its hard to imagine, since the weather has been kind but be aware–it is January and snow will soon arrive as Spring is far away.
I have the honor of being recognized for the Sumi-e Store award at the 59th Annual Juried Exhibition for the Sumi-e Society of America worldwide show. The judge and juror is Dongfeng Li from China and currently a professor at Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky.
The show will be online soon at: http://www.sumiesociety.org/

I have the honor of being one of the five artists selected for this exhibit at the Monastery Gallery in West Hartford, CT. The reception will be August 5, 2022 5-6:30 pm. Hope to meet you all there!
